EXHIBITION POSTER SERIES
Objective
This project was about creating a series of posters with a consistent visual system that puts typography at the center. The posters highlight three musicians—Charmaine Lee, Patti Smith, and JJJerome Ellis—each bringing a unique cultural perspective. Together, the series promotes their artistic paths to exploring justice through sound and performance.
EXPERIMENTATION
In our typography studio, I explored different ways of creating visuals. This process pushed my thinking and opened up new directions for the poster design that I hadn’t considered before.
Design Concepts
I started by developing a range of ideas using different techniques. From there, I narrowed my focus, testing variations until I found the direction that felt strongest for the final design.
Final Products
The completed poster series communicates the information in a clear and accessible way. Each design highlights the unique voice of the featured poet while staying consistent as a set.
APPLICATION
The posters were placed into mockups and real-world settings to show how the designs would look when applied in practical environments.
